About your teachers
Mr. Irving
My name is Mr. Irving. I have a very large blended family including 3 brothers and 2 sisters. I am an uncle of 6 nieces, and am currently in my 14th year of teaching.
I grew up right here in Riverside county. I've lived in Riverside for the first 13 years of my life, then moved to Temecula to complete high school. I attended Palomar College while remaining employed as a contract worker with the military. My job was to implement summer camps for military children while being stationed at U.S. bases all over the world. I also worked for 6 years at a teacher supply store. I graduated in 2006 from California State University San Marcos. I have been teaching elementary school ever since. The last two years of my life have been incredible. Two years ago, I married my wife Erin, and in November, 2017 had my first child, Kinsley Grace Irving :) Many of my hobbies include mountain biking, snowboarding, camping, and spending time with family and friends. I pretty much enjoy doing anything that gets me outside and physically active. I want to live life to the fullest each and every day! |
Mrs. Hernandez
Hello. I'm Mrs. Hernandez . ....
My name is Maribel Hernandez. This is my 4th year at Good Hope Elementary. I am currently a 6th grade teacher. I teach multiple subjects and enjoy working with upper grade students. I have been in the education field for 18 years. I started off my career as a preschool aide in the year 2000 and also had the pleasure of working at Rob Reiner in 2002. I was a substitute teacher for many districts in grades K-12 and Juvenile Hall. I was also an ABA Therapist for children with disabilities.
I teach because I enjoy making a difference in the world. As a child, I didn't believe dreams could come true. Living in poverty as a child, college was out of the question. However, as a 6th grade student, Mrs. Campos, believed in me. She changed my mindset. She taught me that dreams could be goals and goals have an expiration date. Thanks to her, I am who I am today! I want to be like Mrs. Campos by inspiring and motivating my students! I am a proud Mexican American living the American dream. Also, thanks to the love and support from husband and parents, I am able to commit 150% to my profession. Everyday, I get to make a difference in the lives of our future scholars. My passion as an educator is my drive to continue to shape the minds of our future generations. My ultimate goal is to create life long learners and prepare them for their careers because, "We are? Good Hope! We are? COLLEGE BOUND!" |
Mr. Finch
Hello, my name is Mr. Finch. This will be my 14th year teaching in Perris. I have taught at Enchanted Hills and Innovative Horizons. I am very excited over my opportunity to work here at Good Hope!
I have been married to my wife (who also is a teacher in the district) for 15 years. We have 2 children Jaeger who is 6 years old and Jaxx who was born last December. Like Mr. Irving, I too grew up in Riverside county. I went to school in Riverside and then moved to Anaheim to attend Cal State Fullerton where I received my degree in Liberal Arts and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. In my spare time you will usually find me on my boat fishing or wake boarding. I love to be on the water. I also enjoy just being outside and playing with my children. This past summer I was lucky enough to get to go to Alaska to go fishing. I won a fishing tournament in Big Bear last October and the prize was 5 days in Sitka, Alaska. I had a blast catching halibut and king salmon! I look forward to making this the best year I can for everyone! Hello...I'm Mr. Finch. .... |
